		<description>Acid rain comes from Sulfur oxides getting into the air.  Sulfur oxides come from combustion of fuels, such as coal.  Using less electricity leads to using less coal.  You might try searching for sulfur dioxide to find out more.</description>

		<description>Roughly 50% of the US's power generation comes from coal power plants, which are major sources of carbon, sulfur, and nitrogen emissions. Those chemicals accumulate in the atmosphere and are present in precipitation, and with high enough concentrations that precipitation becomes acid rain. Therefore, if you save energy, you are not burning as much coal, and therefore not introducing the elements into the atmosphere necessary to create acid rain.</description>
