if the law of conservation states that energy can not be destroyed nor created, why are we ask to save energy?

applying the law of conservation, why are we ask to save energy and use it wisely?

By save energy, people just mean use less energy. And using less energy really means just using less fuels in the extraction of energy.

The energy that powers our homes, cars, computers, etc. comes primarily from fossil fuels. That power is created by converting the fossil fuels into CO2 and water. Using less energy means we do less of this conversion in order to save fuel and create less carbon dioxide.

entropy… energy goes from a useful state to a less useful state. When electricity is in the wall socket it is useful it can do many things bur when it powers a fan then the energy is converted to a slight heating of the room. Now that energy is not as useful. Finally the heat leaks out thru the wall and makes the world a tiny tiny bit warmer.

The sources we are using to make electricity like coal and oil have limited quantities. If we run out of them before we can develop the technology to utilize other forms of energy, we are in a bit of trouble.

taking fossil fuel that can be used to transform chemical energy into energy like electrical energy to our homes or petrol to run cars for example, what is required is to dig up these natural fossil fuel to extract the energy.
the efficiency however in most of this cases is very low, about 20% of the chemical energy becomes useful energy. the other energy goes into the byproduct like heat energy and noise energy. Also, a lot of carbon dioxide and other pollutants are produced.
thus, in conserving energy by reducing usage, we reduce all these wastages and production of byproducts that lead to environmental issues like global warming.
