If we run out of them before we can develop the technology to utilize other forms of energy, we are in a bit of trouble. When electricity is in the wall socket it is useful it can do many things bur when it powers a fan then the energy is converted to a slight heating of the room. Now that energy is not as useful. Finally the heat leaks out thru the wall and makes the world a tiny tiny bit warmer. entropy… energy goes from a useful state to a less useful state.
