Espresso machines - Enjoy your Favorite Espresso at Home

In today’s bustling world, people hardly have time to tarry a while. But it is possible now to carry a cup full of aromatic relaxation as we travel to work (thanks to the innovativeness of a few intrepid Italians). They made the first espresso coffee machines during the year 1901, and since then, generations of people across the world have become addicted to this magic brew. For those of you that have a second home in an espresso/Starbucks, what would you say if we told you that you no longer have to go there just to get a cup of tasty espresso? You see, thanks to a wonderful thing known as espresso machines, you will now be able to make that cup of delicacy in your very own home. The best thing about this is the espresso maker will never have a “closed” sign on it.

There are umpteenth number of Starbuckss and chains that regularly churn out gallons and gallons of coffees, lattes, cappuccinos and espressos. But of recent times more and more people want to make their own espressos in the confines of their home to save both time and money.

The companies that make espresso machines tend to be boutique smaller companies - unless they are based in the US, in which case perhaps not so much, but they all have one thing in common. They offer a wide range of models and prices to suit almost any pocket. There are of course wide variations in quality also, but there is a model to suit every pocket and need.

People interested in procuring a home use espresso machine can choose a size from a small, tucked in machine to a big flamboyant espresso maker. The power input of the machines can be compared to select the most efficient model; the amount of ingredients used and number of cups of espresso produced is another factor buyers consider. Next they can choose from completely manually operated models to automatic ones.

The models vary as per procedure of functioning as well. There are three models by their working process. The first is the steam machine which is the original model developed in Italy.

The basic models use steam pressure to drive water through the coffee grinds. The piston or lever model uses a piston to build up a head of steam and the pump versions use a mechanical or electric pump to do so. The basic principal remains the same though.

Dozens of companies now make espresso machines ranging in size and application from basic one cup models to large commercial machines. Some of them are - the Conti of Monte Carlo and Briel of Portugal. They all make a wide selection of machines - cater to restaurants, hotels, other commercial ventures and private homes. But let’s face it - every one loves an Italian espresso machine.

Espresso machine manufacturers are wirking around the clock to turn out machines capable of producing this wonderful thick concentrated coffee taste. Its bitter-sweet taste adds a rich special-ness to day top day life. It is probably in the company of an espresso that one can find a moment of tranquility in the world that never seems to slow down for a moment.
